Continue refining list for lessons at 28
Added a few lessons to the list. I am going to read through my lessons. I like the idea of converting my takeaways and views into maxims/aphorisms
Continue refining Claude Shannon content
Slight polish (less than 10 minutes this evening). Starting to listen to the book again tomorrow so I can pull quotes to highlight who Claude was and examples of my takeaways.
Lingq Beginner 1 - かんじょう
Didn’t pay enough attention when choosing this and finished this course in 10 minutes while walking on the treadmill. Choosing a harder task for tomorrow so I actually have a challenge. I didn’t like that the lessons weren’t a story.
Smoothen Transitions in bedroom B-Roll shots and film missing clips such as close up on face
Edited the clip and added it to the timeline. Adding wedding B-Roll and B-Roll of Truman to timeline. Going to add video of Hank and Norm tomorrow. Need to record content of me using the phone.
Challenges for the Week:
Give me a chance:
Post Foldable to Slab Video
Finish filming B-Roll, creating thumbnail, and uploading video
Skills: Uploading, Thumbnail Creation, Editing
Progress: Started filming and editing B-Roll. Recognized opportunity areas. I will continue this through the week to get the video close to where I want it. My skills at this point won’t get it to where I want it to be.
Temperance:
100% Diet Adherence
Finish cut by fully adhering to diet
Skills: practice temperance
Progress: I shouldn’t have bought so many bags of M&Ms for the house but I resisted my temptation and maintained adherence. I’m looking forward to my weigh-in tomorrow. Was just shy of 224 this morning, targeting 220 lbs to close out the week.
Discipline:
In bed by 10:00 PM
Skills: discipline and health
Progress: I am in bed and it is 9:48 PM. I am not going to be asleep before 10:00 PM but working to be asleep before 11:00 PM.
Side Quest:
Read all Beginner 1 Lingq Lessons
Skill: Japanese
Progress: 1 of 8 Beginner 1 courses done
Notes:
The best managers are willing to have hard conversations to set their people up for success. I made another step in that direction in providing tough interview feedback and tough life circumstance feedback to a couple of members of my team.
Transparency is kindness. Don’t hold messages back because they make you uncomfortable.
I’m proud of Syd. She has been working on interior design and is having fun and soaking up knowledge. She shadowed someone who stages for realtors and loved it. She immediately took action, cold-emailing realtors about staging and has already received interest from 4 people and reached out to 100 people. Her ability to take action is inspiring and I’m exciting for the ups and downs that are about to coincide with this.
