The Loop
I’ve been thinking a lot about the content that I want to produce.
The actual content that goes into that—what I say. The visual elements—what I show you. The storytelling—how I share my message.
I’ve been thinking so much about these elements that I…. haven’t been doing anything.
I know this. I recognize the behavior. But it is so hard to break the pattern sometimes.
It kicks my butt.
Then I watch YouTube to make myself feel productive—and I do—until I remember what I should be doing with my time.
One video in particular that I was using to procrastinate today (I have a problem—I had to go through probably 40 videos to find it from my history for the day….), The PERFECT Filmmaking Kit For Solo Creators by Gaku Lange, made me realize how much I would love to make my content more cinematic.
Then another video about how to make good vlogs made me realize that I need to shoot a much larger amount of B-Roll if I want my content to be engaging.
8 hours later, when I finally pulled myself out of my shopping rabbit hole to write this, I started thinking about how I can combine those elements into my videos.
I don’t have an answer yet but I do know how to find it.
By making the videos and combining those elements. If I do that, what I say, what I show you, and how I share my message will all come together in a way that is unique to me.
Creating my style.
To connect better with you.
