The Path Forward

Remorse. Frustration. Disgust. Self-loathing. Disappointment.

The further you stray from the path you are on, the stronger these feelings get.

While the destination is clear, the path is not. Visibility is low—each step revealing a bit more.

But if you lose focus for an instant, you find yourself waist deep in brush, covered in brambles, scrambling to get back on track.

When you do, you’re further back—with less momentum propelling you forward.

But with the familiarity of the trail, you can quickly regain position.

Until another distraction threatens to throw you down a cliff-face.

Some deviations are easy—fixed with a quick step.

Others, insurmountable. Impeding your progress, and forcing a new path and a destination.

Yet, if you choose, there is always a destination. Always a path.

Your job is to get back on it. To stay on it as long as you can bear.

Refocusing quickly, minimizing deviations and setbacks.

For when you refocus, you rid yourself of the compounding negative emotions—inviting in hope, desire, progress, and prosperity in their stead.

Most importantly, you reclaim momentum and begin to progress towards what matters most.
